Wow, that's a big team for a cartoon tie-in. That's a real coup.
Hopefully this will set a new standard for tie-ins and not herald the start of a cheap and nasty slump for P*. I rather suspect it's the former, considering their pedigree ever since the Clover Studio days.
Yeah, the Carbine is getting some serious attention in Update 4. About time - it was great for new players to get into the game, but too viable at extreme range vs the dedicated sniper/marksman rifles.
It's only worth pre-ordering a game if there's a decent sale vs RRP. Happens sometimes, often with voucher codes and/or on PC.
Otherwise, agreed, this probably ought to stop.
At the VERY LEAST, pre-ordering season passes has to end. Stumping up for a game sight unseen is one thing, paying for content that doesn't even exist is something else entirely. Something insidious and terrible.
@Utalkin2me: I should have been more specific. We're talking big Christmas console shooters here. Comparing Titanfall to legends like UT and Q2 is totally reductive - but I agree, I'd play Q2 or UT99 any day of the week over any console shooter ever released (even including Goldeneye or Halo CE splitscreen).
Absolutely agreed - because this is exactly what I did. Feels sluggish and primitive -- no wonder Advanced Warfare is trying to shake things up!
If it came to PS4, It would be interesting to see how traditional P2P servers would fare vs Microsoft's dedicated Azure servers. Perhaps more risk of lag depending on region, but more straightforward and speedier matchmaking? Food for thought.
EDIT: DLConspiracy raises a really good point below. Haven't played it on 360 - anyone?
Can't agree with that at all. Titanfall makes other shooters feel slow and flat, the maps are impeccable and the foundation is pure class. It's a game that can be played repeatedly because it's fun, not because you're chasing arbitrary unlocks.
Sadly, the post-launch support has been utterly abysmal and even a step backwards.
Which is relevant... how? There isn't a new GT this year, but there is a new Halo compilation.
A little bit, probably. Deservedly, I'd argue, since Spencer really did the best with the sorry situation Mattrick left the brand in (as an Xbox One owner myself). But the PS4 will continue to sell itself -- Sony's excellent messaging is pretty much self-sustaining at this point.
Also LittleBigPlanet is the bomb.
This game was appalling on Leap Motion, btw. Not in terms of the controls, but in terms of production values, story, characters, everything.
I will be amazed if this port is any better.
Gross.
But agreed. The gameplay vs graphics debate isn't so much a debate as apologist bickering.
Apologise, EA. Just do it.
Acknowledgement is a step forward, but after months of glib marketing spiel that often blamed PLAYERS for their hardware or internet connections -- and tried to pass off fixes as favours to the community rather than actually shoring up an unfinished game -- there's still a fair bit of ill-will out there. Just say "sorry."
Sure, there'll be an admission of guilt - but such a small gesture would probably have a posit...
I actually agree with the vague spirit of the article, but seeing as MGS V will let us abduct sheep with hot air balloons, I don't think it's going to lose the quirky sense of fun.
On PS5 and Xbox Two, at this rate.
I'd seriously suggest checking out Super Time Force if you can - it's a platform exclusive (likely timed) and ruddy brilliant. Strike Suit Zero is also worth checking out on either new gen system, though the Director's Cut upgrade may well feature in the Steam Sale!
Cross-buy is immense. Curve Digital are really nailing that side of things (e.g. Stealth Inc, Proteus, Lone Survivor etc) - as a Vita owner I'm laughing especially since cross-saves are also supported as standard!
And yeah, totally agreed (and voted), I'm SICK of people bashing indie games. Talented people are working hard to give us lovely things to play. WHY DO IDIOTS COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT?! /rant
Defo check out both of those, they're immense. Mercenary Kings can be a little grindy but fire up 2-4 player co-op and you're laughing!
Good attitude! AAA games are awesome, but for me they're like a big main course between loads of tasty appetisers, crazy Heston Blumenthal-style experiments and greasy-yet-satisfying fast food.
I'm hungry now. Hungry for indie games. Also Uncharted 4, but hey, plenty to snack on until then!
There are times for petitions, when outpouring can really make a difference on important issues.
I'm not entirely convinced that this is one of those times, to put it VERY mildly.
MS could bring it to PC down the line, though, but aren't exactly going to be keen to shaft one of their big Christmas exclusives any time soon.
Yeah, but you would say that, Miles. :P
Still annoyed at watching you flying around... invulnerable... lording it over me...
